The President of the Iraqi Football Association, Adnan Darjal, met with the new coaching staff of the women's futsal team, in the presence of the Executive Office member of the Association, Rasha Talib, and the Women's Committee in the Association.
A statement by the Football Association received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated that "Darjal welcomed the coaching staff, wishing him success in his coaching mission in leading the national women's futsal team to the expected successes in the future, in light of the great achievement achieved at the regional level two years ago, with Iraq winning the title of the 2022 West Asian Women's Championship in Saudi Arabia.".
He added that "an agreement was reached with the Portuguese coaching staff of our national women's futsal team, consisting of Vieira Bettencourt, coach of the team, assisted by Francesco Micri, and Felipe Andrade, goalkeeper coach, on the details of the terms of the contract that will be concluded and start from the first of next August.
An agreement was also reached on the program to prepare the national women's team for the next stage, so that the coaching staff will follow the women's futsal league competitions that will start on July 25 in the capital, Baghdad, to evaluate the players and choose the best of them as part of the preparation program for the Women's Asian Cup Finals."
