Minister of Interior Chairs Extensive Security Meeting at Karbala Ops Command HQ

    Minister of Interior Abdul Amir Al-Shammari chaired an extensive security meeting at the headquarters of Karbala Operations Command to discuss the progress of the security and service plan for the commemoration of Ashura.
     
    In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the ministry noted that "Minister of Interior Abdul Amir Al-Shammari chaired an extensive security meeting today at the headquarters of Karbala Operations Command to discuss preparations for the tenth of Muharram, the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), attended by the Karbala Operations Commander, the Chief of Police, and security, intelligence, and Popular Mobilization Forces."
     
    The statement mentioned that Al-Shammari received a detailed explanation about the work and deployment of the security sectors.
     
    According to the statement, Al-Shammari emphasized the "importance of intensifying efforts to serve the visitors heading towards Karbala for this immortal commemoration from within and outside the country," highlighting the "reliance on intensive intelligence efforts and securing the holy city of Karbala and its surroundings."
     
    He directed to "ensure smooth movement for the visitors and complete cooperation with the owners of the Hussaini processions, along with continuing awareness and educational campaigns among the visitors."
