The Baghdad Operations Command(BOC) announced, on Tuesday, liberating a kidnapped foreign and the arrest of the kidnappers, including a “woman” in Al-Karkh side.
BOC stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “after receiving accurate intelligence information indicating that there was a kidnapping incident of a foreign worker (who works as a wheel maintenance engineer) within the sector of responsibility on the Karkh side, a joint work team was immediately formed from the leadershi the Second Division, Federal Police, in coordination with the Intelligence and Security Department/our leadership, moved to the specified location, and after investigating, searching, gathering preliminary information, following up on surveillance cameras, and expanding the search circle, the location of the perpetrators was revealed, and with a precise ambush set up for them, all members of the “kidnapping gang” were arrested."
The statement added, "The gang consists of four people of foreign nationality, including a woman who is fluent in one of the foreign languages," noting that "the kidnapped person was released after demanding a ransom of ($4,000) from his family, near the Al-Misbah Bridge within the Taji Highway, next to Al-Karkh."
It noted that "all members of the gang were handed over to the competent authorities to complete the legal procedures against them."
