Drug Bust: Two networks deal in the sale and promotion of drugs were taken into custody

Two networks that specialize in the sale and promotion of drugs were held in Diwaniyah, according to a Ministry of Interior statement on Thursday.

"With two separate operations, and through accurate information and activating the intelligence effort, the General Directorate of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Affairs was able to arrest two networks specialized in the trade and promotion of narcotic substances and in their possession (more than half a kilogram) of crystal meth , drug paraphernalia and weapons, including three rifles, a seven RBG launcher, a rocket, six hand grenades, and a pistol in Diwaniyah province," said Brigadier General Miqdad Miri, spokesman for the Interior Ministry and the Security Media Cell.

The statement said, "Legal measures have been taken against the accused persons to complete their investigative papers. The Diwaniyah Narcotics Directorate oversaw the security operation."
