President of the House of Representatives Mohammed Al Halabousi received the new United Nations envoy in Iraq, Jenin Henness Blachkart.
At the beginning of the meeting congratulated the Speaker of the House of Representatives Blachkart on the occasion of the new position in Iraq, wishing her success in her work.
During the meeting, they discussed the importance of cooperation between Iraq and the UNAMI mission in all areas, especially in support of the displaced, reconstruction and future UN programs in Iraq.Al-Halbusi stressed the importance of continuing international support for Iraq, noting that the post-urgent phase and the great victories on terrorism require international efforts and continuous coordination in order to ensure the security and stability of all the cities of the country.
Halabousi also stressed the need for the international community to take an active and responsible role in the relief of displaced families and to create safe conditions to return to their cities after the victory over terrorism and move to the reconstruction of the country and investment and provision of services and employment opportunities.
