In an extensive interview: (INA) opens 16 files with the Minister of Health

    The Minister of Health, Saleh Al-Hasnawi, confirmed the existence of a plan to implement 16 hospitals supported by more than 240 projects in progress, and while he spoke about the hospital management project and its positive aspects for the health sector, he touched on the issue of appointments in an interview with the Iraqi News Agency (INA), indicating that the ministry intends to appoint the specialties it needs, with the granting of those with other specializations a certificate of practicing the profession.
    Al-Hasnawi said in an interview with the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The Ministry of Health is one of the first ministries in terms of the implementation rate of the government program,” noting that “the completed government program is distinguished and an example of what was achieved is the Health Insurance Law, which was suspended for two years after the government approved it and we expanded in it and included It includes one million citizens as a second phase, and this is considered a very big step.”
    The Minister of Health indicated that "we have begun establishing cancer centers in some governorates after completing contracts and funding," explaining that "these centers are distributed in Baghdad, Diwaniyah, Muthanna, Diyala, and Kirkuk as well."
    He continued, "On the other hand, 77 specialized foreign teams were brought in to treat rare diseases, 4,551 were treated within the medical evacuation and recruitment programs, and 1,108 contracts were concluded to provide medicines and medical supplies, including 167 contracts with national and foreign companies to provide cancer medicines."
    The Minister of Health pointed out in a second topic that “the project to manage modern hospitals by international companies is not new and was approved in previous budgets, but it was not implemented, but the current government has placed it as a priority and contracts have been made to manage six hospitals, and we are preparing to contract for the seventh hospital.”
    Regarding the meeting of the Council of Arab Health Ministers under the presidency of Iraq and the files that are being worked on, Al-Hasnawi explained, “The presidency of Iraq is one of the important issues, and the issue of public health concerned with primary health care was discussed.
    The meeting also touched on, for the most part, what is happening in Gaza in terms of aggression that has caused humanitarian disasters, as we discussed the medical aid file. We talked about the role of Iraq, as well as the roles of other countries that continue to send aid. We discussed how to save the health situation in Gaza. We discussed the issue of the Arab Doctor Award, and it was agreed to award it to Palestinian doctors for their courage and heroism.”
