Zidan receives the comprehensive analytical report of Camp Speicher massacre from UNITAD

The President of the Supreme Judicial Council -SJC, Fa'aq Zidan, received on Monday a comprehensive analytical report on Speicher Massacre from UNITAD team.

 

The Supreme Judicial Council said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that 'SJC President Fa'aq Zidan , on Monday,  received Acting Special Adviser and Head of the United Nations Investigative Team to Promote Accountability for Crimes Committed by Da'esh/ISIL (UNITAD) Ms. Ana Peyro Llopis  along with team members.'

 It indicated that The Head of UNITAD Ms. Ana Peyro Llopis  handed over to SJC President the comprehensive analytical report on the massacre at the Presidential Palaces Complex in Tikrit, which was committed against the cadets who left Tikrit Air Academy in 2014 (Speicher).'"

 
SJC President commended the team's diligent efforts in achieving this significant milestone, encapsulating the atrocity as 'an act of genocide within ISIS's campaign against Shiite communities in Iraq, thereby recognizing it as a crime against humanity and a war crime.' the report handover ceremony were attended by Chief Investigating Judge Jabar Abdul Dali from the Central Investigation Court, alongside Judge Yasser Fintil, assigned to investigate this particular crime."
