Minister of Immigration and Displacement, Ivan Faiq Jabro, announced today, Saturday, the return of 787 displaced people from Ashti camp, the last camp in Sulaymaniyah Governorate, to their original areas of residence in Yathrib district in Salah al-Din governorate and Sinjar district in Nineveh governorate.
A statement from the ministry received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated that “based on the directives of the Minister of Immigration and Displacement, Ivan Faiq Jabro, the ministry’s staff delivered (instruments) of the financial grant amounting to four million dinars, in addition to durable goods (plasma screen, cooker, refrigerator).” and relief materials for returning families.
The statement added, "The number of families remaining in the Ashti camp is approximately 370 families, and their return will be after their children finish taking the ministerial exams, so that Sulaymaniyah Governorate will be free of camps.".
