PM instructed to appoint a coordinator for the post-UNAMI phase, government source

    Advisor to the Prime Minister, Hussein Allawi, confirmed on Wednesday, that the negotiations on ending the tasks of the UNAMI mission are a major government achievement, while noting that Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani directed that a coordinator be identified for the stage after ending the tasks of UNAMI.
     
    Allawi told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The negotiations on ending the tasks of the UNAMI mission are a major achievement for the government of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani,” indicating that “the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Prime Minister’s Office, and the relevant authorities will work to manage and negotiate the file.”
     
    He pointed out, "The Prime Minister directed that there be a coordinator for the phase after the completion of the mission's tasks and the mechanism for Iraq's dealings with United Nations agencies in the fields of health, economy, and infrastructure development, as well as training on human rights issues and confronting issues of common concern."
     
    Allawi explained, "The Prime Minister succeeded in managing the government curriculum in cooperation with the political forces, parliament, and the Kurdistan Regional Government, whether at the level of development, capacity building, and developing foreign policy, as well as developing the spirit of development towards developing the gross national product, providing new paths in the economy, and encouraging the private sector." 
     
    He added, "The private sector is working to search for great economic opportunities with the United States of America, the European Union, and the Gulf countries," noting that "the establishment of the Development Fund is an indication of the stability of the economy and its progress forward, in addition to the development of special development projects for youth, such as entrepreneurship projects and others, in addition to the stability of the security apparatus in transferring the state and protecting development after a long war with terrorism, the stability of the state, and the presence of foreign, Arab, Gulf and Islamic countries investors in Iraq, all of these things are indicative of the stability of Iraq.”

     
    He continued, "There are important projects, including the development and renewable energy road and the Al-Faw port, which it is hoped will be opened next year, as well as openness in the field of transportation and international trade."
