Iraq's first artificial intelligence conference kicks off

    A short while ago, the first conference on artificial intelligence was launched in Iraq, under the patronage and supervision of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani.

    The Advisor to the Prime Minister for Scientific Affairs and Artificial Intelligence, Professor Diaa Al-Jumaili, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “Today, Erbil is hosting the first conference on artificial intelligence in Iraq, under the direct supervision of the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, and the Artificial Intelligence Advisory in Prime Minister, pointing out that “the conference is being held with the participation of many specialists, academics and those with technical expertise in the field of artificial intelligence.”
     
     
    Al-Jumaili added, “The idea of the conference is to introduce artificial intelligence in Iraq, through Iraqi experiences at home and abroad,” stressing that “the modern industrial revolution is the basis of the fourth industry, and it is the basis of artificial intelligence that began in Baghdad 1,200 years ago, and which began in Al-Khwarizmi and Pete wisdom, which is what we are trying to return to Iraq.”
     
    He pointed out that "the industrial revolution is a new world that we are entering, and Iraq has a strateg iraq is considered one of the first countries in the region to have an artificial intelligence consultant in the prime minister's office, while Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani personally chairs and supervises the Supreme Committee for Artificial Intelligence in Iraq, and this does not exist in the rest of the countries of the region.
     
    Al-Jumaili pointed out that "there is a strategy (short-term and long-term) that will continue until the year 2050 the short-term strategy is for every Iraqi university to have a college dedicated to artificial intelligence, while the College of Agriculture will be transformed into the College of Smart Agriculture, and the artificial intelligence curriculum will be introduced in schools at the primary and preparatory levels,” He stressed that "this idea is the idea and vision of the Prime Minister."

    He continued: "At the end of the conference, there will be results, which are the creation of a center for artificial intelligence in Iraq, and its headquarters will be at the American University in Baghdad and other universities, with government support."
