Palestinian Information Minister Ahmed Assaf welcomed, on Thursday, Iraq’s initiative to form a broad Arab media alliance aimed at exposing the crimes of the Zionist entity.
A statement by the Media and Communications Commission, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that “The Chairman of the Media and Communications Commission, Ali Al-Muayyad, met with the Palestinian Minister of Information, Ahmed Assaf, on the sidelines of the fifty-fourth session of the Council of Arab Information Ministers, held in the Bahraini capital, Manama.”
The statement added, "Assaf expressed his deep thanks to Iraq for its strong and clear stance towards the Palestinian issue, and welcomed Iraq's initiative to form a broad Arab media alliance, aimed at exposing the crimes of the Zionist occupation, highlighting the suffering of the Palestinian people, and providing them with the necessary media support."
Assaf praised "Iraq's speech in the Council," stressing that it was "comprehensive and expressive of the aspirations of the Palestinian people and their just cause," noting that "the speech touched the conscience of the Palestinian people and expressed Iraq's firm solidarity with them."
The statement indicated, "This meeting comes within the framework of strengthening Arab media cooperation and coordinating efforts to confront common challenges, especially with regard to the Palestinian issue and the ongoing Zionist violations."
