The head of the Media and Communications Commission, Ali Al-Muayyad, discussed today, Saturday, with the head of the Arab World Institute in Paris, Jacques Lange, the revival of the Iraqi cultural heritage and the empowerment of youth.
A statement by the Commission received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated, “Al-Muayyad met with the President of the Arab World Institute in Paris, Jack Lange, in a meeting that discussed the importance of Iraq and its cultural and historical heritage in strengthening Iraqi national identity and consolidating cultural relations with the world.”
Al-Muayyad stressed according to the statement “the pivotal role played by Iraq’s cultural and historical heritage in shaping the national identity, noting that this heritage constitutes a bridge for communication with other cultures and enhances Iraq’s position on the international arena.”
He expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by the Arab World Institute in introducing Arab and Islamic culture, praising the presence of the Iraqi poet and writer Shawqi Abdel Amir in the management of the Institute, calling for strengthening cooperation between the Authority and the Institute by holding workshops and joint art exhibitions that contribute to enriching the cultural and artistic scene. In both countries."
The head of the Communications and Media Commission stressed "the importance of supporting Iraqi youth and providing them with opportunities for creativity and excellence in various fields, noting that youth represent the future of Iraq and bear the responsibility of building a prosperous and advanced homeland."
For his part, Jack Lang praised "the role played by Iraq in preserving cultural and human heritage, stressing the importance of strengthening cooperation between the Arab World Institute and the Iraqi Media and Communications Commission in order to achieve common goals."
According to the statement, the Arab World Institute is “a cultural and diplomatic interface that was established in 1987 through a partnership between France and the Arab countries, and is headquartered in the capital, Paris.”
