Minister of Immigration and Displacement, Ivan Faiq Jabro, announced today, Thursday, the return of (935) displaced people from (Ashti) camp, the last camp in Sulaymaniyah Governorate, to their original areas of residence in Balad District in Salah al-Din Governorate and Sinjar in Nineveh Governorate.
A statement by the Ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said: “Based on the Minister’s directives, the Ministry’s cadres delivered (instruments) of the financial grant amounting to four million dinars to the displaced inside the camp, in addition to durable goods (plasma screen, cooker, refrigerator) and relief materials to Returning families.
Jabro confirmed according to the statement that “the initiative comes within the directives of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, to encourage displaced families in the camps to return voluntarily before the date of their closure and end the displacement file on the 30th of next July.”
