The Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency - FIIA announced, on Wednesday, the thwarting of two human trafficking operations in Babylon and Nineveh provinces.
FIIA said in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "the detachments of the intelligence agency specialized in combating organized crime in the provinces of Babylon and Nineveh have monitored information that there are two human trafficking gangs".
"An intelligence follow-up team was immediately formed, and with two separate operations, the sale was thwarted and all four accused were arrested", the statement added .
The statement pointed out that "the operation was carried out after obtaining the fundamentalist judicial approvals, and they were referred to the investigative authorities to get their fair punishment".
