Najaf Criminal Court on Tuesday sentenced a convict to life imprisonment for the crime of drug trafficking.
The media center of the Supreme Judicial Council said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that “the convict was found in possession of a quantity of meth e narcotic.”
The statement added, “The verdict was issued in accordance with the provisions of Article 28/1 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law No. 50 of 2017.”
