The Iraqi Government declares a national day of mourning for the death of the Iranian President and his companions

The Iraqi Government declared, on Monday , a national day of mourning for the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and his companions .

 The official spokesman for the government, Basim Al-Awadi, said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): that “We stand in solidarity with our brothers the Iranian people and leadership in these difficult times, and share their grief and pain, following the tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, the Foreign Minister ,Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and their companions. The Iraqi Government declares a national day of mourning throughout Iraq on Tuesday”. 

“We pray to Allah to grant patience and solace to the families of the victims, as well as to the Iranian people and their leaders during these difficult times”, he added.
