BPC announce the seizure of 1 kg of crystal meth at the Shalamcheh port

The Border Ports Commission (BPC) announced, on Thursday, the seizure of 1 kg of crystal meth at the Shalamcheh border crossing.

A statement by the Commission received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated that "the Shalamcheh border crossing directorate, in cooperation with the Anti-Narcotics Division, was able to arrest an Iraqi traveler in the arrivals hall and seize (1) kg of crystal meth in his possession, professionally hidden inside a tube with both ends closed in a failed attempt to smuggle it into the country."

It added, "A formal seizure report was prepared, and the accused and the narcotic substance were referred to the Shalamcheh Customs Police Station to take appropriate legal action."
