The Olympic team arrived today, Saturday, at Baghdad Airport amid an official reception.

The correspondent of the Iraqi News Agency (INA) reported that "the Olympic team arrived at Baghdad airport amid an official reception."
Today, Saturday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani directed the Minister of Youth and Sports to receive the players and officials of our Olympic football team at Baghdad International Airport.

Our Iraqi national Olympic team qualified for the Paris Olympics, after defeating its Indonesian counterpart with two goals to one in the match to determine third and fourth places in the Asian Olympic qualifying competition, which went to two extra periods after the end of regular time in a positive draw with one goal for the same.

The Indonesian team took the lead during the first half of the match through its player Ivar Jenner in the 19th minute, before our national team equalized through Zaid Tahseen in the 27th minute, in the match that took place at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium in the Qatari capital, Doha.

According to this result, the normal time of the match ended, which went into two extra periods before Ali Jassim decided to qualify for Iraq with a second goal in the 96th minute of the first extra period.
