The Russian ambassador to Baghdad, Elbrus Kutrashev, confirmed today, Saturday, that the fields of military cooperation are open with Iraq.
On the sidelines of his attendance at the Security, Defense and Military Industries Exhibition in its (12th) session in Baghdad, Kutrashev said in his speech to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “Baghdad and Moscow have very active relations in the field of military technical cooperation,” pointing out that “Russia did not participate in a way Directly at the Security and Defense Exhibition, but also through Belarus, which participates in the exhibition with some Russian products.”.
He added, "Russia has military capabilities, and cooperation with Iraq has benefits, and there is a strong relationship in this field," noting, "The Iraqis know Russian equipment and weapons.".
He continued, "The exhibition witnessed a high rate of participation and that the next stage will witness Russian participation," stressing that "all areas of cooperation are open and there is a common desire to continue cooperation through the continued exchange of visits of delegations between the two countries.".
