SMC: New hideouts for ISIS were found deep in Saladin Island

    The Security Media Cell announced today, Thursday, the discovery of important hideouts for terrorists deep in Salah al-Din Island.

    The cell said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The detachments of the National Security Service were able, through a distinguished intelligence effort under the supervision of the Joint Operations Command, to obtain accurate information about the presence of important hideouts deep in Salah al-Din Island.”.

    The statement added, "The agency's detachments, in conjunction with the Salah al-Din Security Directorate and the Salah al-Din Operations Command, embarked on a search and inspection duty within the sector of responsibility and found (6) hideouts for ISIS terrorist gangs in various places in the desert, containing a small wheel repair workshop, some caves, tunnels, and shelters used for disappearance and camouflage operations to avoiding air strikes and hoarding supplies, logistical materials, tanks of oil derivatives, and other materials.”.

    He pointed out that "it was dealt with fundamentally in accordance with the approved contexts," noting that "our security forces proved that unity of action and coordination of information were among the important reasons for the success of the security work to dry up the sources of terrorism and cleanse the homeland of its filth."
