Rashid emphasizes how crucial it is to keep up international efforts to fight extremism and terrorist organizations

    Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, the President of the Republic, emphasized on Thursday the significance of sustaining global efforts to counter extremism and terrorist organizations. 

     "The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received today at the Peace Palace in Baghdad, the Australian Ambassador to Iraq, Glenn Miles," according to a statement from the Media Department of the Presidency of the Republic that the Iraqi News Agency (INA) obtained.

    The President of the Republic emphasized during the meeting "the need to exchange visits and benefit from Australian expertise in the field of agriculture, investment, and land use," as well as "the importance of joint work to consolidate relations between the two countries, and expand bilateral cooperation to serve the mutual interests of the two friendly peoples." 
     
     In order to consolidate security, stability, and peace at the regional and global levels, he emphasized "the challenges facing the region and the need to intensify international efforts to stop the escalation and reduce tensions." 

    Noting that it "is witnessing improvement and progress in light of the desire of the two sides to reach common understandings that achieve social justice and provide solutions to outstanding issues in accordance with the constitution and the law," he referred to "the relationship between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government."  
     
    The President of the Republic emphasized "the importance of continuing international efforts in combating terrorist gangs and extremism to promote peaceful coexistence among all," praising "the Australian government's positions in support of Iraq in the areas of the war on terrorism and security cooperation."
     
      The Australian ambassador, for his part, emphasized "his nation's goal to strengthen the ties of cooperation and consolidate its relations with Iraq in order to achieve the the supreme interests of the two friendly countries and peoples.
