Mohamed Shia al-Sudani, the prime minister, emphasized the significance of Lockheed Martin's commitment to open warplane maintenance facilities on Thursday.
In a statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the Prime Minister's Media Office stated that "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani met in Washington, James D. Taiclet , the CEO of Lockheed Martin, which is in charge of producing F16 aircraft, and his accompanying delegation."
"Given the importance of this matter for the rehabilitation of Iraqi aircraft to maintain the security of the country," he emphasized, "the company's commitment to opening centers for the maintenance of warplanes and providing them with spare materials inside Iraq."
Taiclet, for his part, stated that he "understands and is ready to respond to the requests of the Iraqi government to implement the terms of contracts for the supply of aircraft to Iraq and to provide all related supplies."
