INSS seizes about one million and 400 thousand narcotic pills in Baghdad

    Iraqi National Security Service (INSS)  announced, on Wednesday ,the seizure of about one million and 400 thousand narcotic pills in the capital Baghdad that were secretly hidden inside cloth rolls of various sizes.

    INSS media office in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA ), stated that "with a qualitative intelligence operation and in coordination with the national security detachments in Baghdad, a force from the Najaf Security Directorate managed to seize about one million 400 thousand Captagon-type narcotic pills secretly hidden inside cloth rolls of various sizes estimated at 440 rolls that were intended for smuggling through one of the cargo shipping companies".

    The statement added that "the operation took place after obtaining judicial approvals and intensifying the intelligence effort, which led to the arrest of one of the accused , of red-handed and in possession of receipts in the name of the cargo transportation company".

    The statement pointed out that "the accused was referred with the seizures to the competent judicial authorities to take the necessary measures against him according to the law".
