Health Minister Saleh Al-Hasnawi, on Wednesday, set the date of the Korean hospital opening in medicine city, while pointing out that the hospital building was designed to resist earthquakes and disasters.
A ministry statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) said that "health minister Saleh Mahdi Al-Hasnawi visited the Iraqi -Korean specialized Critical Care Hospital project in medicine city today.
Al-Hasnawi stressed that "the hospital was established within the framework of the South Korean grant in cooperation with Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) program ", noting that "the hospital has been fully completed and at the stage of installation of medical devices”.
He added "The hospital will be opened in two to three months" ,pointing out that "the building consists of four floors with a capacity of 74 beds, and also includes 3 operating theaters equipped with the latest medical equipment, as well as contains an advanced cardiac catheterization Center for cardiac and cerebral catheterization”.
"The hospital includes a mycoscope for surgical intervention and also includes advanced medical devices for endoscopic operations of the digestive system "he explained.
He added that " the hospital is equipped with more than 2250 medical devices and a laboratory for medical gases" explaining that "this hospital is the first specialty in forestry care in Iraq, and contains a recovery ward for critical cases after discharge from surgical operations in addition to an isolation ward”.
Al-Hasnawi pointed out that"the hospital includes an advanced laboratory, a pharmaceutical dispenser, a blood bank, a mattress, a resonance and advanced radiology, as well as the building is equipped with about 5 elevators in addition to the usual stairs and emergency exits and equipped with advanced systems for cooling, heating, monitoring and extinguishing fires electronically, and also contains an electronic control system administrative, medical and engineering".
He said that “The building was designed to be resistant to earthquakes and disasters, and the soil was examined 11 meters deep underground" explaining that "the hospital receives very critical cases that need surgical and catheterization interventions”.
