Health minister Saleh Al-Hasnawi explained, on Friday, the departments and specialties of al-Hakim hospital in Maysan, and while he pointed to the start of rehabilitation of 8 hospitals in Baghdad, he revealed a plan to establish 100 health centers distributed to all governorates. Al-Hasnawi told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "al-Hakim hospital has a capacity of 492 beds with 400 beds for lying down and 92 beds for complementary services, which are represented by cardiac care, respiratory care, dialysis, emergency, recovery and maternity wards," indicating that "the hospital is equipped with multiple units of all specialties.” He added that" the hospital was slow for many reasons, but the government program of the government of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, accelerate the completion of lagging projects and solve all problems and facilitate obstacles, "noting that"during the government period, the Sayyab hospital in Basra and the hospital of the martyr al-Hakim in Maysan were opened. He added that" there are two hospitals with a capacity of 100 beds, the first in Mejir district and the second in Ali Sharqi, in addition to a project for a hospital with a capacity of another 50 beds within the development of the regions, "explaining that"there is a project to build a psychological and Social Rehabilitation Center for drug victims in Maysan. "For the first time, the budget allocates large sums for the purchase of medicines for the province, medical supplies, laboratory services and support for cancer centers," he said, pointing out that "the prime minister directed to increase support for cancer centers in Maysan. "There is a project to fully rehabilitate Al-sadr hospital from the ministry's budget," he said, explaining that "the current government has set a priority for health projects in all governorates. He added that " there are 16 health projects in 16 districts in different governorates will be launched during the next month, and 10 hospitals will be fully rehabilitated during the coming period, "pointing out that" there is serious and accelerated work by the Council of ministers and the Diwani order committee 45 to rehabilitate at least 25 hospitals during the next year, including in Baghdad, namely the hospitals of Alhurriah, Alshaab, fadiliya, Nahrawan, Husseiniya, Abin Sina and others. He pointed out that "there is a project to establish a cancer hospital with a capacity of 400 beds included in the budget, and it will be next to Karkh in Baghdad," indicating that "there is a plan to establish 100 health centers distributed to all governorates of Iraq. Regarding the health insurance law, Al-Hasnawi said that "the experimental phase of the implementation of the law included the coverage of 300 thousand citizens by 150 thousand employees with their families and 100 thousand of Social Welfare, whose services are free, as for the employee, his contribution is 1 percent, in addition to 10 percent of retirees allowed to participate in this phase," pointing out that "the law will then expand to include a million citizens and thenn more.”
