PM Al-Sudani Chairs the Periodic Meeting to Monitor the Progress of Oil Projects

    Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani chaired the periodic meeting on Monday to monitor the progress of the Ministry of Oil's projects and the ministry's efforts to develop and expand oil sector facilities.

    “The meeting reviewed the progress of the ministry's projects and plans, achievement rates, development of extraction operations, and the investment of associated gas, the discussions also covered the progress in refinery projects and refining capacities for petroleum products,” stated the media office of the Prime Minister in a statement, received by The Iraqi News Agency-INA.

    “Prime Minister Al-Sudani was briefed on a comprehensive presentation on the implementation of petroleum products transportation projects, the strategies for distributing petroleum products across provinces, and the application of electronic payment systems at fuel stations, emphasizing that citizens should not bear any additional costs or burdens due to this transition,” the statement added.

    “The status of petroleum derivatives and fuel production was discussed, with the goal of achieving self-sufficiency, meeting domestic consumption, and avoiding the need for imports,” the statement continued.

    Prime Minister Al-Sudani reiterated his directives on the importance of accelerating development in the oil sector to match the growth of other sectors in the national economy. This development aims to meet citizens' aspirations, improve their living conditions, and support the construction of infrastructure across various fields.
