Rashid stresses the need to expand the Mission System and benefit from scholarships and fellowships

    President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid stressed, on Wednesday, the need to expand the missions system and benefit from scholarships and fellowships ,while the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Naeem Al-Aboudi pointed to the work on the establishment of the zero nuclear reactor to train students and turn it into a reactor serving scientific research issues.

    Media Office of the Republic Presidency stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "The President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received today the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Naim al-Aboudi”.

    The statement added that" the meeting discussed the conditions of Iraqi universities and colleges and the educational process in the country" ,stressing the importance of legislating laws that contribute to the development of education in the country and contribute to strengthening the status of Iraqi universities”.

    The president of the Republic pointed out "the need to take advantage of scholarships and fellowships in Postgraduate education offered by the Cyprus Institute to Iraqi students during the visit of the Republic President to Cyprus last December".

    The Republic president called for " investing these opportunities in gaining experience and developing the educational reality in the country through the exchange of visits, and developing means of cooperation and coordination between Iraqi universities and their counterparts in the world" pointing to the need to develop and expand the system of missions and encourage Iraqi students to continue their efforts in acquiring skills and experience”.
     
    For his part, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research provided "a brief explanation on the development of educational reality at the level of teaching and student numbers, and the achievements of Iraqi universities in the field of international rankings ",pointing to "the near entry of Iraqi universities in the “ Shanghai” classification, and the presence of (1015) foreign students currently studying at Iraqi universities".

    the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research stressed that" work is underway to establish the zero nuclear reactor to train students and turn it into a reactor that serves scientific research issues ",noting that "there is coordination and cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency to work in this direction and to serve peaceful purposes, especially that Iraq has qualified scientists to restore its role in the peaceful use of nuclear energy”.
