PM receives an official invitation to visit Azerbaijan

PM Muhammed S. Al-Sudani met on Monday, with the Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov, and his accompanying delegation on Monday evening.

The meeting focused on reviewing the bilateral relations between Iraq and Azerbaijan, exploring ways to enhance these ties across various fields, including economic, commercial, and cultural sectors.

Prime Minister Al-Sudani highlighted that the reciprocal visits by officials from both countries underscore the mutual interest of Iraq and Azerbaijan in developing their bilateral relations, pointing out the many commonalities between the two nations, which could facilitate further fruitful cooperation opportunities.

The Prime Minister expressed Iraq's keenness to have Azerbaijani companies participate in construction and reconstruction projects, particularly in the energy sector, and to strengthen the private sector cooperation between the two countries. 

He highlighted significant investment opportunities in Iraq's oil industry sector and the strategic Development Road projects that will benefit both nations and contribute to regional stability.

Minister Jabbarov, conveyed greetings from the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, to the Prime Minister and extended an official invitation to visit Azerbaijan to discuss various shared interests. 

He reaffirmed Azerbaijan's desire to enhance cooperative relations, readiness to increase trade exchange with Iraq, and continued bilateral coordination through the Iraqi-Azerbaijani Joint Committee.
