Oil announces the completion of the rehabilitation work of the Baiji-Kirkuk oil products pipeline

    The Oil Pipeline Company affiliated with the Ministry of Oil announced today, Saturday, the completion of the rehabilitation work of the 12-knot oil products pipeline (Baiji - Kirkuk), with a distance of 86 km, after it stopped working since 2014.

    The Director General of the Oil Pipeline Company, Ali Abdul Karim Al-Musawi, said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The technical and engineering teams in the company were able to complete the maintenance and rehabilitation work of the pipeline after it stopped working and was out of service since 2014 as a result of the terrorist acts that affected the area due to ISIS terrorism”,  
    so that the pumping of petroleum products towards the modern Kirkuk oil depot will be resumed in conjunction with the operation of the North Refinery in Baiji, and the increase in the refining capacities of the Al-Samoud refineries, indicating that “the pipeline contributes to the transport of white petroleum products (gasoline - white oil - gas oil) from the North Refineries Company.” / Al-Samoud Refinery (Baji) to the Kirkuk warehouse via the Baiji pumping station with a capacity of (4500-6000) million liters per day, to ensure the delivery of petroleum products to the citizens of Kirkuk Governorate and its affiliated districts and districts and the northern governorates, in addition to activating the pumping capacity of the pipelines and reducing pressure on transportation. 

    Al-Moussawi added, “Maintenance work included modernizing the pumping systems at Baiji Pumping Station, by performing the necessary connections, mechanical and electrical works, installing modern meters and control systems for medium pressure pumps (KV 6.6/320KW), and beginning to install pumps to give flexibility and remove operational bottlenecks in the North Refineries Company, the petroleum products are pumped towards the company’s central warehouses.”
