PM's efforts contributed to returning the materials stolen from Baiji refinery

    The project manager for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the North Refineries, Engineer Hadi Saleh Daher, confirmed today, Friday, that the return of the stolen materials from the Baiji refinery will speed up the process of reconstruction and operation of the refinery, praising the efforts of the Prime Minister that contributed to the return of the materials stolen from the refinery.

    Zaher told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "the return of the stolen materials to the refinery will have a significant impact on the work," noting that "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani had great efforts to return the stolen materials from the company."
    And that "these materials are very important and will speed up the process of reconstruction and rehabilitation of the refinery and its operation in half of the period that was expected and previously planned.".

    He added, "During the prime minister's meeting with the technical and engineering cadres of the refinery, a number of matters were discussed, and the prime minister's response was quick, as he gave many powers to manage the refinery," noting that "the work at the Baiji refinery is proceeding with tremendous efforts, and a completion rate of no less than 40% has been achieved." From the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the refinery, through direct supply, and the materials were provided with great effort and the employment of no less than 2,500 workers and specialized technical cadres for this level.

    For his part, the Director General of North Refineries, Adnan Muhammad Hammoud, confirmed to the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "the company was honored by the Prime Minister's visit to open the Al-Izra unit, whose production reaches 25,000 barrels per day," noting that "the opening of this unit will contribute to raising the octane number of gasoline and improving its quality." At a time when the country needs derivatives such as gasoline and gas to the maximum extent possible.
    He noted that "this visit is aimed at supporting the national economy, national industry,Ministry of Oil, local production and evaluating imports, especially since the Prime Minister directed to overcome the obstacles facing the company in various fields.".

    He continued, "The Prime Minister visited the Great Reconstruction Campaign project in the North Refinery, which includes refining, hydrogenation and gasoline improvement units, in addition to that it includes other refining units," stressing that "the Prime Minister directed to support the project and complete it in the shortest possible time. And other aspects, facilitating procedures and providing all the exceptions needed by the project to carry out the work assigned to the project cadres.

    He explained that "the quantities produced by the Baiji refinery reach 120,000 barrels from the Baiji site, the Al-Sumoud refinery at the present time, in addition to 100,000 barrels from external refineries represented by the Kirkuk refinery, the Qayyarah refinery, the Al-Kasak refinery, and the Haditha refinery, bringing the current final total to 220,000 barrels produced per day by the company." North refineries in various oil derivatives, such as oil, gasoline and other oil derivatives, as well as fuel residues that are used in the operation of electrical stations. 

    As for the oil waste and how to deal with it, Adnan said: "Environmentally, we apply environmental procedures to the maximum extent, and currently a project to convert to environmentally friendly refineries has been approved, but this issue requires time and requires equipment that is being worked on in a very modern project, and that the refineries are in a stage of complete destruction now and returned.".

    The largest part of it and the rest of the second part is under construction. It will work in parallel at the same time, construction and development. Modern projects have been introduced such as the Salah al-Din One refinery, Salah al-Din Two, and the North Sutra for final treatment of oil waste. The North Flare and the Salah al-Din flame have also been treated through advanced modern technologies to make refineries environmentally friendly end.
