Al-Maliki receives Victoria Taylor in the presence of Alina Romanowski

    The head of the State of Law coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, confirmed on Wednesday Iraq's keenness to activate the strategic framework agreement after the end of the international coalition’s role .

    Al-Maliki’s media office said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): that "the head of the state of Law Coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, received at his office today, Victoria Taylor the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Iraq and Iran affairs in the presence of US ambassador to Iraq Alina Romanowski”.

    "During the meeting, they exchanged views on the developments taking place in the regional and international arenas, and a number of issues and files of common interest "the statement added.

    Al- Maliki stressed "the importance of strengthening bilateral relations between Baghdad and Washington and ways to strengthen them in the interests of the two friendly peoples".
     
    Regarding the ongoing dialogue between Iraq and the international coalition forces, al-Maliki pointed to "Iraq's keenness to activate the strategic framework agreement after the end of the role of the international coalition from Iraq and the transition to comprehensive relations in various fields between the two countries", stressing the need to end the aggression on Gaza and open safe humanitarian corridors”.

    For her part, Taylor pointed to the "cooperation relations between the two countries, and the keenness to maintain them in several areas" explaining that "the United States is moving to end military operations in Gaza as soon as possible, and work towards a political path that guarantees the legitimate rights of Palestinians".
