General Electric-GE Company in Iraq confirmed on Tuesday, the unprecedented government support amidst Iraq's pursuit of energy security and sustainable economic development, led by Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani.
“GE receives continuous, unprecedented support from the government of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs, the Minister of Oil, Hayan Abdul-Ghani, and the Minister of Electricity, Ziad. Ali Fadel," The Company’s Director, Rashid Al-Janabi, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
Al-Janabi lauded Iraq's role at COP28 in 2023, held in the UAE. The country's delegation that has exceptional negotiating skills, not only showcased Iraq's priorities on the international stage but also played a pivotal role in shaping global discussions which is true honor for us to contribute significantly to this influential participation.
He emphasized that “General Electric has been operating in Iraq for over five decades, with a work that currently experiencing a notable acceleration. Underlining the significance of the last two decades, especially the preceding year, Iraq has evolved into a focal point for projects, demonstrating a consistent commitment to meeting its energy demands and fostering sustainable economic development."
He also expressed his "appreciation to the government of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani for providing the opportunity for General Electric to contribute to supporting and building economic development in Iraq."
