The Islamic Dawa Party condemned the killing of Abu Baqer Al-Saaedi on Thursday and demanded that the government and the country take a stand to put an end to these attacks.
In a statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the political bureau of the party stated: "We denounce the murder of our brother, Wessam Muhammad Saber, also known as Abu Baqer Al-Saaedi, who was killed in Baghdad. However, Kataib Hezbollah has declared in an official statement that it is taking a humanitarian initiative, stopping all of its activities effort to eliminate allow the government to act and prevent further escalation, as well as allow the diplomatic and political efforts to remove foreign forces from Iraq with the least amount of losses, but that initiative was met with killing."
Dawa party went on to say that "turning Iraq into an arena of sustainable conflict will be at the expense of its security, stability and sovereignty, which has become violated daily," and that "silence on this crime and passing it without a firm national, political and governmental stance will make it repeated."
"In light of these vicious and persistent attacks, which will unavoidably plunge the region into an unending war, the international community must fulfill its obligations," it declared.
