Abu Baqer Al-Saaedi, who was martyred yesterday evening after his vehicle was targeted east of Baghdad, received last respects from the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF).
The PMF "pays last honors to the hero Abu Baqer al-Saaedi, who martyred on Wednesday evening as a result of targeting his vehicle in Al-Mashtal area, east of Baghdad," according to a statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
The Security Media Cell declared earlier that an inquiry into the incident that targeted a civilian vehicle in Al-Mashtal area, east of Baghdad, has begun.
"A skilled technical team from the security forces began investigating the incident of targeting a civilian vehicle within Al-Mashtal area, east of the capital, Baghdad, on February 7th, 2024," the Cell said in a statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
"The investigation is still ongoing to find out the means of targeting and its source," SMC continued. "This targeting led to the burning of the vehicle and the martyrdom of those inside."
