Baghdad Municipality: The Arab Towns Organization expressed its readiness to cooperate and transfer experiences

    Baghdad Municipality announced, today, Thursday, that the Arab Cities Organization has expressed its readiness to cooperate and transfer the expertise and experiences of Arab countries in the Arabian Gulf and the rest of the cities of the Arab world.

    The Secretariat stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “the meeting of the Executive Council of the Arab Cities Organization in its 61st session was held under the chairmanship of the Mayor of Baghdad, Ammar Musa Kadhim, and in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Organization, the institutions affiliated with it, the secretaries of the capitals, and the officials of the municipal departments of 20 Arab cities that participated in this meeting in Baghdad after a 35-year estrangement.

    Secretariat pointed out that “the Arab Towns Organization is one of the active organizations in the Arab world and Baghdad has been a founding member of it since its founding in 1967. The last meeting of this organization was held in Baghdad 35 years ago, and the holding of the Executive Council of the Arab Towns Organization for its 61st session today in Baghdad gave a clear message for Baghdad’s return to Its Arab embrace and common relations with its Arab capitals.”.

    Baghdad Municipality added, "This organization, with its seven institutions concerned with Arab cities, has expressed its full readiness to cooperate and transfer the expertise and experiences of Arab countries in the Arabian Gulf and the rest of the cities of the Arab world in order to achieve a distinguished service reality for the city of Baghdad under the services government.".

    in addition to that , "All the participating delegations indicated a clear change in the service reality of the city of Baghdad and the projects implemented therein, and we are continuing to harness all local, Arab and international efforts and capabilities in order to improve the reality of the capital, Baghdad, for the better," noting that "at the conclusion of the session, the attendees exchanged the distribution of commemorative shields with the Baghdad Municipality." In addition to showing them an exhibition of fine art paintings held by the Secretariat’s Directorate of Relations and Information.”
