The Iraqi Communications and Media Commission counted the number of foreign media offices in Baghdad, while calling on them to convey a true image of Iraq, stressing that it is ready to provide all kinds of facilities.

“There are 40 foreign media offices in Baghdad licensed by the Commission," said the head of the Commission, Ali Al-Muayyad, to the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

He called on Western and international media to come to Baghdad with "the aim of conveying a true image of the capital and Iraq and of developments at the level of state institutions, services, investment and economic.”

"This encourages us to engage the state's work within its service and urban initiatives as well as restore confidence between society and the government," he pointed out, adding that "the presence of foreign media can change the distorted stereotype about Iraq, give a bright picture of Iraq's culture and history, as to provide economic and investment opportunities."

He stressed "the need for the European Union to support the young democracy in Iraq," stressing "the need to support this experience in the Middle East."

"The Commission is ready to provide all the necessary facilities in terms of security, licenses, and facilities. This is the approach of the government led by Prime Minister Muhammed S. Al-Sudani to encourage foreign media to be present and convey the image of the real situation in Iraq," he noted.
