Al-Saadawi discusses latest advances in Development Road project with a delegation from Turkey

    Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi, the minister of transportation, reviewed the latest advances in the Development Road project with a delegation from Turkey.

    "The minister of transportation, Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi, received at the Ministry building a Turkish delegation headed by Turkish ambassador Ali Reza Konay to discuss the Development Road project," the media office said in a statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA). It further noted that "Al-Saadawi discussed with the Turkish delegation several matters related to the project and also reviewed the latest developments of work with the Iraqi side on the project designs and the interest of the government and Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani in Development Road."

    The ministry sent technical delegations to Turkey to discuss the project's merits, he noted, and they also worked on forming technical committees and setting up a project headquarters at the public railway company. There, the team works nonstop to complete the project's requirements under the supervision and follow-up of senior authorities at the Ministry headquarters.

    Al-Saadawi made it clear, "continuing to complete the Development Road with local governments in the provinces," underscoring that "many countries in the area and on the continents of Asia and Europe are convinced of the Road's viability and strategic importance and wish to take part in our project at the construction and implementation stages."

    The minister disclosed he was invited to visit Ankara to talk about the Development Road by his Turkish counterpart.

    "The project includes important projects, and several Turkish companies are ready to help fulfil its requirements," the Turkish ambassador emphasized on his behalf.

    "We worked on preparing a draft between the two sides during the visit of Prime Minister Al-Sudani to Ankara," the Turkish ambassador said. "President Erdogan's visit to Baghdad will coincide with the writing of a second draft that these two drafts will serve as a guide and entry point between Turkey and Iraq," he declared.
