The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, affirmed today, Thursday, to the Minister of the Interior and its advanced staff, the work of everyone to serve Iraq and the Iraqis.
The media office of the Presidency of the Republic stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “the President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received the Minister of the Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, and the Ministry’s advanced staff,” and stressed, “The Interior is the security body that works on more than one level and fights.” On more than one front, it fights terrorism, combats the scourge of drugs, contributes to border control and maintains internal security, in addition to national duties related to the lives of citizens.
He added, “Your national mission lies in establishing security and stability in the country, because they are essential factors in achieving development, stimulating the economy, stimulating investment, and consolidating our foreign relations with the countries of the world,” noting, “This heroic act receives a positive response from the people, and this is greatly noticed.” Through the media and through direct communication with citizens and state officials.”.
The President of the Republic also praised the efforts made by members of the Ministry of Interior, along with their brothers in the rest of the ministries and other security agencies, stressing that “all of our work has one goal, which is to serve Iraq and the Iraqis, and that efforts must be combined to achieve this noble goal,” according to the text of the statement.
In turn, the Minister of the Interior affirmed that "the leaders, officers of the ministry and its members are making their efforts to preserve the security and stability of Iraq and to preserve its internal front and national unity.".
According to the statement, the Minister reviewed the Interior Ministry’s plans to improve security work, impose security, enforce the law, protect citizens and their property, and build bridges of cooperation with citizens.
Al-Shammari added according to the statement that “the Ministry, in coordination with other security agencies, has developed a program to prosecute crime and limit the spread of alien phenomena to our society such as drugs, respect for law and order, spread culture and awareness among young people and fortify them security-wise, appreciating the President’s interest and support for the Ministry and his valuable directives to establish security and stability in the country."
