Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan discussed the Iranian attack on Erbil, while stressing the need to resort to dialogue to resolve problems and tensions in the region.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “Today, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein held a telephone call with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Turkish Republic, Hakan Fidan,” indicating that “Hussein briefed his Turkish counterpart on the details of the Iranian attack on Erbil city.
MOFA added, "The two sides exchanged views on developments in the region, especially the armed conflict between Pakistan and Iran.".
According to the statement, Fidan briefed Hussein on the latest developments regarding the contacts he had with the Iranian and Pakistani sides regarding the current crisis between the two sides.
The two ministers stressed during the call, “the necessity of resorting to dialogue, negotiations and consultations to resolve problems and tensions in the region in a way that serves stability and contributes to the establishment of security.”.
The two ministers pointed out “the importance of relations between Iraq and Turkey and the necessity of strengthening and developing them,” and expressed their pride in “the strength and strength of the fraternal relations that exist between the two friendly countries, and their keenness to continue work, coordination and consultation regarding various issues of common interest.”
