Iraq engages in business meeting in Davos with 57 International Companies

    PM Muhammed S. Al-Sudani participated on Tuesday, in a productive business meeting, engaging with the heads and representatives of 57 international companies specializing in energy, oil and gas, and various economic fields. 

    This meeting took place on the sidelines of the Davos 54th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Switzerland, according to a statement by the PM Media Office, received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

    Al-Sudani outlined "the government's advanced plans in development and economic reform. The discussion encompassed substantial investment opportunities including the Industrial City Project, the Grand Faw Port project, the vital Development Road Project, and integrated oil field projects."

    He highlighted the solar and renewable energy projects with Chinese and Emirati companies, emphasizing "the government's extensive focus on gas investment projects," outlining "plans to expand investment opportunities in this promising sector."

    The Prime Minister highlighted the ongoing residential projects and outlined future initiatives planned in all governorates of Iraq.

    "The significance of the implemented banking reforms undertaken by the Central Bank of Iraq," was emphasized on, asserting, "These reforms aimed to establish communication with international banks, ensuring compliance with global financial and banking standards."

    He underscored that "the stability and security of the region depend significantly on Iraq's stability. Any attempt to destabilize Iraq's internal situation or threaten its security would have repercussions on the regional and international security of the Middle East."

    The meeting was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Oil, the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, and several advisors to the Prime Minister.
