Acting Speaker of the Parliament, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, confirmed on Monday, that the barbaric attack on Gaza and the condemned attacks on Yemen inspire the positions of Al-Nasr leaders, indicating that the incident of assassinating Al-Nasr leaders is a blatant violation of Iraq’s sovereignty.

“The incident of assassinating the martyrs, Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis and Qassim Soleimani, was a dangerous turning point for our dear country. It was a blatant violation of Iraq’s sovereignty, international charters, and agreements. It represented a brutal, aggressive logic controlled by no standards nor values," said Al-Mandalawi during the 4th annual forum held by the Parliament to commemorate the martyrdom of the leaders of victory; the leaders of victory, an approach and a role model; attended by the head of the National Wisdom Movement, Sayyed Ammar Al-Hakim, the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Ahmed Al-Assadi, a number of MPs, the head of the Martyrs Foundation, Abdul-Ilah Al-Naeli in addition to heads of missions, officials and civil society organizations, attended by the reporter of the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

Al-Mandalwi pointed out, "This attack was repeated by bombing the headquarters of the Popular Mobilization Forces, one of the armed forces' formations, and targeting its loyal leaders."

"The difficult circumstances that our Islamic nation is going through, especially the barbaric and brutal attack on Gaza and its oppressed people, as well as the condemned attacks on brotherly Yemen and the sovereignty of its lands, prompt us to draw inspiration from the position of these martyrs as a lesson in clarity and not flattery. The right is more worthy to be followed," he noted.

He called on “the executive authority to implement Legislative Resolution No.18 2020, issued by the Parliament, which stipulates the removal of international coalition forces from Iraqi territory,” adding, “This decision represents the will of the people through their representatives who unanimously agreed on that. The Parliament is fully prepared to provide the necessary support to the government for this purpose."

"Talking about the martyrs Al-Muhandis and Soleimani is talking about great role models that generations must look at with pride and dignity, as they wrote the most wonderful images of honesty, altruism, asceticism, faith, and heroism. Those who lived with them know that they sought to follow the path of Imam Hussein; peace be upon him; in supporting truth and standing against falsehood, regardless of the circumstances and temptations, and regardless of the small number of supporters. With their fragrant conduct, their blessed jihad, and their lack of compromise on their true principles, they were among the companions of Imam Hussein in word and deed," he expressed.

In turn, the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Ahmed Al-Assadi, explained that “the Parliament is one of the most important symbols of sovereignty in this country, and from this place we remember the martyrs.”

He noted, "PM Muhammed S. Al-Sudani affirmed the government's keenness on national sovereignty and the application of the law, as the negotiations have begun to implement the decision to remove the coalition troops so that Iraq will be free of any foreign presence after the completion of our armed forces with all their types."

"The security forces are capable of defending the country and preserving its sovereignty as well as the dignity of its people. We believe that the martyrs are alive, so the commemoration of this memory will continue. Giving blood will continue to flow out of a sense of responsibility, and this country is resistant to death and brokenness. The leaders of Al-Nasr are in the hearts and minds of the masses. They are constant in the history of this nation,” he expressed.

For his part, the head of the Sanad Parliamentary Bloc, Murtada Al-Saadi, pointed out, “We faced terrorism and were able to withstand and win. We recall the courage of the martyr Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis in those difficult circumstances, in addition to the martyrdom of thousands of individuals for the sake of the country.”

"We recall the Parliament's decision to end the US presence in Iraq," he asserted, stressing, "We will work within the Parliament and with the help of the government to expel the Americans and the international coalition, as we collected signatures to enact a law to expel them."

He highlighted, “We affirm to US and UK the right of Palestinian and Yemeni resistance.”
