Czech: Prague plans to participate in the development road project in Iraq

The Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Iraq, Peter Stebank, considered today, Thursday, the participation of his country's companies in the Baghdad International Fair as a new beginning for Iraqi-Czech economic relations, and while he confirmed that his country plans to participate in the development road project in Iraq, he indicated that a meeting of the Czech-Iraqi Committee will be held in the capital, Prague, next month.

Stebank said to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “Czech companies previously did not participate in the Iraqi international exhibitions, but that does not mean that they were absent from the Iraqi market,” stressing that “the official Czech participation in the Baghdad International Fair represents the beginning of a new step In Iraqi-Czech economic relations.”.

Stebank expressed his hope to "develop and improve relations further through the participation of Czech companies in the upcoming sessions of the Baghdad International Fair and other specialized exhibitions, including the Oil and Energy Exhibition, which will be next month."

He stressed that "mutual visits between the two countries at the political level will contribute to strengthening these relations," noting that "the Czech Republic participated in very important industrial economic sectors, but the most prominent in this participation is the oil and refineries sector on the one hand, and the health sector on the other hand." .

Stebank pointed out that "the Czech Republic has another ambition to expand and develop relations with Iraq by participating in agricultural cooperation and also in the field of water management."

Regarding the development road, ambassador Stebank confirmed that “there are plans to participate in the development road project, and this matter was discussed with the Iraqi Minister of Transport,” stressing that “this issue will be one of the first topics to be discussed by the Czech-Iraqi committee, which will be held next month in Prague.” There will be discussions with the Iraqi Minister of Industry and his Czech counterpart.”
