France: Fears of attacks in the New Year due to the Gaza war

The French government announced today, Friday, that it will deploy more than 95,000 police and military personnel to ensure security on New Year's Eve.
 
 
Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin told reporters: "The security deployment scheduled for Sunday comes due to the ongoing war in Palestine."
The minister explained that "90 thousand police and gendarmes and five thousand elements of the military unit to combat terrorism and mobile units will be deployed in France on Sunday evening, with the support of helicopters."
He also explained, " Drones will be used for monitoring, and that the French intelligence services will be on alert."
Six thousand security elements will be deployed in the capital, Paris, where up to one million people will be expected to gather on Sunday evening on the Champs -Elysées.
