Iraqi Minister of Youth and Sports, Ahmed Al-Mubarqa, discussed on Tuesday, with his Qatari counterpart, Salah bin Ghanim Al-Ali, the facilitations for fans attending our national football team match in the Asian Cup finals.
The match was set to kick off in Doha, Qatar on the 12th of January 2023 based on the directive of PM Muhammed S. Al-Sudani, said the Director General of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation in the Ministry, Hussam Hassan, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
Al-Mubarqa made a phone call with his Qatari counterpart, who "welcomed the participation of our national team in the Asian Championship and wished it success, as they talked about the necessity of facilitating the Iraqi fans obtaining he entry visas to attend their national team match a nd support them in this important Asian event.”
Hassan pointed out that "Al-Ali promised Al-Mubarqa to make all efforts with the competent authorities in his country for the presence of Mesopotamia Lions fans and their contribution to the success of the tournament hosted by Qatar and in which the best teams of the Asian continent participate."
