Joint Ops hold a meeting to discuss the election success

    INA - BAGHDAD 

    Joint Operations Command held on Tuesday, a meeting to discuss procedures and plans to ensure the success of the elections.

    The meeting was held by the Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, Chairman of the Supreme Security Committee for Elections, Lieutenant General Qais Al-Muhammadawi, and discussed the arrangements for holding local council elections for the year 2023, according to a statement by the Joint Ops, received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA. 

    Al-Mohammadawi discussed with the concerned attendees the security measures and plans to ensure the success of the local elections, the protection of ballot boxes, cooperation and coordination between the various sectors of the security forces, as well as between the offices of the Independent Electoral Commission and the supporting security authorities.

    The meeting also dealt with the final arrangements made by the High Commission regarding the readiness of its offices to receive voters and the completion of technical preparations by the Commission to hold the elections.


    "Discussions were made and views were presented, related to the latest security and technical preparations, which will be benefited by the parties concerned for the completion and success of the electoral process, which will take place in several days," included in the statement.
