Head of the Atomic Energy Commission and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Naeem Al-Aboudi, announced that Iraq has officially joined the International Nuclear Security Network - NSSC.
“We announce the approval of the International Atomic Energy Agency for Iraq’s membership in the international network of training and support centers in the field of nuclear security NSSC,” said Al-Aboudi in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
He expressed his confidence that "Iraq's accession to the International Network for Nuclear Security Training and Support Centers will be positive at the level of training, developing human resources, providing the necessary technical and scientific support, and achieving safety and quality standards in the field of nuclear energy."
"That would serve the goals of sustainable development and will support the special zero nuclear reactor project. With scientific research for university students, it will pave the way for establishing the National Center for Nuclear Security," included in the statement.
