Hussein Shrine: Collecting 16 tons of relief materials for the Palestinian people

The General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine of Hussein, confirmed today, Thursday, the collection of 16 tons of relief materials to be delivered to the Palestinian people.

The Assistant Head of the Relations Department at the Holy Imam Hussein Shrine, Ahmed Hassan Fahd, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “Under the direct guidance of the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi al-Karbalai, the first aid package was collected carrying medical materials to relieve the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.” Which amounts to approximately (16) tons of medicines and necessary medical supplies.

He explained, "This initiative was carried out in joint coordination with the Iraqi Red Crescent Society, which coordinated with the Egyptian and Palestinian Crescents, as well as the Palestinian Ministry of Health.".

He pointed out that “these convoys carry the necessary medical materials and supplies that the injured or sick person needs, and it is hoped that they will be delivered through the relevant government agencies to Egypt and then to Palestine,” indicating that “this initiative is the first and will be followed by other medical and humanitarian initiatives, from Before the Holy Hussein Shrine to provide relief to the Palestinian people.

He continued, "The materials have been delivered to the Iraqi Red Crescent Society, which will take care of their transportation as soon as possible."
