Concluding activities of the 3rd Fujairah International Philosophy Conference

    The activities of the 3rd Fujairah International Philosophy Conference concluded on Monday, under the slogan “Philosophy and the Living World,” organized by the Philosophy House in Fujairah.

    Dr. Majdy Abdul Hafez, Professor of Philosophy at Helwan University, presented his thesis on “Contemporary Man and the Conflict of Values,” and Dr. Ali Al Kaabi from the Emirates presented the UAE’s experience and strategy on “The Importance of Teaching Philosophy,” while Dr. Hassan Hammad from Egypt discussed the topic of “Art and Tolerance."

    Dr. Jacob Dahl-Rentorff wondered: "Is our planet in danger? What is the way to save it?", and Dr. Abdullah Al-Sayed Ould Abbah interviewed on the topic “From the survival instinct to the love of life", in addition to Dr. Anwar Mugheeth from Egypt announcement upon the final statement of the conference, which led to the following recommendations:

    1- Emphasizing the importance of the role of the House of Philosophy at the Arab and international levels and developing its diverse activities, which include translation, authorship, dialogue, and workshop programs that would confirm the presence of philosophy in life.

    2- Confirming the call to teach philosophy in the Arab world at all different levels of education, as well as holding philosophical courses to enrich young people in various fields of philosophical awareness.

    3- Participation in international philosophical conferences so that Arab philosophers have a permanent presence in the circle of global philosophy to remove the preconceptions of others about us. It also enhances communication with global philosophy as part of the history of contemporary philosophical awareness.
