The Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, directed today, Saturday, to support the border forces and harness the capabilities to enhance security and prevent any external threat affecting the country’s security.
A statement by the Ministry of Interior, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that “Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir al-Shammari, chaired an expanded conference in Basra Governorate, specifically in the Border Forces Command, Fourth District, in the presence of Governor Asaad al-Eidani and a number of leaders and officers.”.
The statement added, "The Minister of the Interior listened to a briefing from the Commander of the Border Forces, about the most important duties carried out by this command, the areas of openness, border control, and the working mechanism to prevent infiltrators, as well as the use of modern technological means to monitor the borders, including the operation of high-resolution cameras, to prevent the entry of drugs, influences and smuggled materials, which contributes to preserving the security and stability of Basra.”.
The Minister of Interior directed, "to support the border forces and harness the capabilities to enhance security and prevent any external threat that affects the security of the country in general and Basra Al-Fayhaa in particular."
