Spokesman for the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yehia Rasool, announced on Thursday that new packages of Iraqi aid will be sent to Gaza, pointing out that coordination is underway with the Egyptian authorities in this regard.
Rasool told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, formed a committee headed by the adviser to the prime minister for Human Rights," indicating that "this committee consists of the Popular Mobilization Forces and a representative from the Intelligence Service, the Ministry of Interior and the Air Defense Command as well as other sectors working within the Air Defense Command.
He explained that "the committee held several meetings and set up the mechanism for the delivery of relief and medical aid to the Gaza Strip," pointing out that "coordination is underway with the Egyptian Red Crescent and the Egyptian authorities, as the relief aid reaches Arish International Airport and then enters through the Egyptian Red Crescent.
He added that "3 packages of relief and medical materials were sent through the Iraqi Air Force planes," noting that "the committee is working continuously and there will be other packages in the coming days will arrive at Al-Arish airport in preparation for delivery to the Gaza Strip.
For his part, Mohannad Hussein, Assistant Media Director of the Popular Mobilization Forces, confirmed that "the center of the Union of strategic experts held a special session on the Palestinian issue in general and the issue of Gaza, which is exposed to the most heinous forms of terrorism through the Zionist entity," noting that "part of our legitimate, brotherly and humanitarian responsibility is to support the Palestinian cause.
"We support the Palestinian cause and stand with the Palestinian people Heart and soul," he said, pointing out that "the Palestinian people have been subjected to many tragedies and terrorism.
